Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, Iceland’s president, wanted to ban the pineapple on the pizza.

He said “this as a joke” , in an interview, but someone took seriously his declaration, and a pandemonium was born! He had to apologize to those who were offended, because they love that kind of pizza!

When I read the news today, almost could’t believe! The pineapple with pizza?! But really?! Ok, maybe  for me as Italian this sounds a bit strange, but I have never seen a pizza served with pineapples!

I don’t want to look like the classic Italian: pizza – spaghetti – mandolin and traditionalist, and I promise you that with AgentChiara  we are going to try it as soon as possible and let you know! Oh my God, I am not so sure that she would eat this kind of  pizza, but I ‘ll do! I am curious!

We often eat pizza with vegetables and mozzarella: here are the AgentsZerozerosetter in a local Pizzeria.

Try it with mozzarella, roasted eggplant and black pepper…WOW

Too funny. Except now we have a present in America who makes dumb news too.

That is the most amazing looking pizza I have ever seen! Thank you for sharing. I do like pineapple on pizza, by the way 🙂 With ham.

I saw this trending on Facebook and was floored. This much uproar over a pizza topping? While I enjoy pineapple and pepperoni pizza every now on then, I’m still astonished this was even news!

This was quite hilarious. People will get offended by anything these days. I feel sorry that he had to apologize but I guess people are very defensive of their pizza!

Pizza in pineapples aren’t so bad. I wouldn’t go craving for it, but it’s a nice addition. It just feels like people are too sensitive these days, being offended by something so small.

That pizza has me drooling! It looks absolutely amazing!!

I love pineapple on pizza, especially with some nice ham. Love a good mozzarella pizza though too! 🙂

Pineapple on pizza is a great thing. I cannot imagine someone actually banning it, even in jest. 😉

  9. 23 February 2017 / 13:38

I have heard about this but never tried it myself. I would be up for giving it a shot.

OMG! Is that a Hefe Weizen in the picture? Anywho…personally, I love pineapple on pizza. But pulled pork BBQ pizza with bacon and onions is the BOMB!

Yes,it was a Franziskaner!Pineapple on pizza sounds so strange…here in Italy nobody makes this kind of pizza!

I remember visiting this little town in Italy when we lived in Germany. The Pizza is entirely different from the Pizza here in the U.S. There are some places that are trying to recreate a ‘traditional Italian’ Pizza experience, but there is absolutely NO comparison!

        • 25 February 2017 / 20:08

You’re right, here in Italy pizza is really different, and the same is for the ingredients!

Here in the Philippines it is quite common. Though I must admit, we suck at making pizzas. Hahaha. Anyway, we call pizzas with pineapple “Hawaiian Flavor”

    • 24 February 2017 / 11:48

Hi John, thanx for comment and I think that “Hawaiian flavour ” sounds good…but maybe for a wonderful holidays time 😀

This is funny to me because pineapple pizza has ALWAYS been my favorite – that is, until I developed a sudden allergy to pineapple last year. Many people who eat pineapple on pizza also like ham and bacon or sausage on it as well, but I always liked it with just marinara sauce, cheese, and pineapple tidbits.

I miss it quite a lot sometimes.

I Never saw a pineapple pizza here in Italy😄we eat pizza with more traditional ingredients!Seems so strange to me with pineapple…it’s a fruit! But seriously, now I have to try,if I can find who makes it!
